The CBSE Class 10 board exam is the Secondary School Examination taken by students of CBSE-affiliated schools in India and abroad, and by eligible private candidates. Since 2026 CBSE holds two Class 10 board exams a year: a main exam in February-March that everyone must take, and an optional second exam in May to improve scores in up to three subjects. The 2027 exams follow the 2026-27 curriculum, and the pass rule is at least 33% in each subject.

When will the CBSE Class 10 2027 date sheet be released?
CBSE had not released it by 29 October 2026. It is expected soon on cbse.gov.in. The main exam is expected to start in mid-February 2027.
Are there two board exams for CBSE Class 10 in 2027?
Yes. Since 2026 CBSE holds a compulsory main exam in February-March and an optional second exam in May. You can use the second exam to improve marks in up to three subjects.
Is the second board exam compulsory?
No. Only the main exam is compulsory. The May exam is optional, for improvement or to clear a compartment.
What are the passing marks in CBSE Class 10?
You need at least 33% in each subject, which is 33 out of 100 for most subjects.
Where can I download the official CBSE Class 10 sample papers for 2027?
On cbseacademic.nic.in, under the Sample Question Papers for 2026-27 link. CBSE released them in September 2026.
Has the CBSE Class 10 exam pattern changed for 2027?
CBSE said there is no change in question paper design and assessment for 2026-27. Most subjects stay at 80 theory and 20 internal marks.
Can I appear as a private candidate in CBSE Class 10 2027?
Only if you fall in CBSE's private categories, such as failed or essential repeat in an earlier year, compartment, attendance shortage or improvement. The 2027 form ran from 8 to 23 October 2026, with a late fee until 30 October.
What is the difference between Maths Standard and Maths Basic?
Standard is the harder paper and is needed to take Mathematics in Class 11. Basic is easier and is for students who will not take Maths further.
When will the CBSE Class 10 2027 result come?
Not announced. In 2026 the main-exam result came on 15 April and the second-exam result on 18 July.
