JEE Main has no single pass mark. The cut-off most people mean is the minimum Paper 1 NTA score (percentile) needed to be among the roughly 2.5 lakh candidates eligible for JEE Advanced. It is set category-wise after Session 2. Seats at NITs and IIITs are then given by rank in JoSAA counselling, where closing ranks vary by institute, branch, category and home state.
