Single correct option

The ratio of the amounts with A and B is 3 : 4 and that of B and C is 6 : 7. If the three together have ₹1,750, how much does C have?
  1. A. ₹600
  2. B. ₹650
  3. C. ₹700
  4. D. ₹750
Show answer and solution

Answer: (C) ₹700

Make B common. A : B = 3 : 4 = 9 : 12 and B : C = 6 : 7 = 12 : 14.

So A : B : C = 9 : 12 : 14, a total of 35 parts.

One part = 1750/35 = 50, so C = 14 × 50 = ₹700.

Tip: take the LCM of B's two values (4 and 6 → 12) to chain ratios.
