Mature mammalian red blood cells lose their nucleus to make room for more haemoglobin, so statement 1 is wrong. Haemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying pigment, is found in red blood cells and not in white blood cells, which are involved in defence, so statement 2 is also wrong. Hence neither statement is correct.
