Show answer and solution
Answer: (B) 2 only
Statement 1 is wrong: the Speaker of the Lok Sabha presides over a joint sitting, and in his absence the Deputy Speaker or the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha; the Vice-President, as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, does not preside. Statement 2 is correct: under Article 108 the President can call a joint sitting if the Houses disagree on an ordinary Bill. Money Bills and Constitution Amendment Bills have no such provision.
