If log₂(log₃(log₄ x)) = 0, then x equals:

Single correct option

If log₂(log₃(log₄ x)) = 0, then x equals:
  1. A. 16
  2. B. 64
  3. C. 81
  4. D. 256
Show answer and solution

Answer: (B) 64

Remove the logs one layer at a time, from the outside in.

log₂(y) = 0 means y = 1, so log₃(log₄ x) = 1.
Then log₄ x = 3¹ = 3.
So x = 4³ = 64.

Why 81 or 256 are tempting: they come from mixing up the bases (3⁴ = 81, 4⁴ = 256).
