Single correct option

The total number of stereoisomers (geometrical and optical) possible for [Pt(NH3)(py)ClBr][\mathrm{Pt(NH_3)(py)ClBr}] (square planar), [Co(NH3)3Cl3][\mathrm{Co(NH_3)_3Cl_3}] (octahedral) and [Co(en)2Cl2]+[\mathrm{Co(en)_2Cl_2}]^+ (octahedral), taken together, is

Answer: (C) 8

Square planar Ma b c d\mathrm{Ma\,b\,c\,d} type [Pt(NH3)(py)ClBr][\mathrm{Pt(NH_3)(py)ClBr}]: 33 geometrical isomers (planar, so no optical isomers). [Co(NH3)3Cl3][\mathrm{Co(NH_3)_3Cl_3}] (MA3B3\mathrm{MA_3B_3}): facial and meridional =2=2, both achiral. [Co(en)2Cl2]+[\mathrm{Co(en)_2Cl_2}]^+: trans (achiral) ++ cis (exists as a pair of enantiomers) =3=3. Total =3+2+3=8=3+2+3=8.
