Single correct option

A number is chosen at random from the integers 11 to 3030. The probability that it is divisible by 44 or by 66 is
  1. A. 415\frac4{15}
  2. B. 25\frac25
  3. C. 13\frac13
  4. D. 12\frac12
Show answer and solution

Answer: (C) 13\frac13

Multiples of 44: 77; multiples of 66: 55; multiples of both (1212): 22 (namely 1212 and 2424). Favourable =7+5−2=10=7+5-2=10, so the probability is 1030=13\frac{10}{30}=\frac13. The value 25\frac25 forgets to remove the common multiples.
