Its circumradius is

Single correct option

The sides of a triangle are 1313, 1414 and 1515. Its circumradius is
  1. A. 77
  2. B. 88
  3. C. 132\dfrac{13}{2}
  4. D. 658\dfrac{65}{8}
Show answer and solution

Answer: (D) 658\dfrac{65}{8}

Semi-perimeter s=21s=21, area =21⋅8⋅7⋅6=84=\sqrt{21\cdot8\cdot7\cdot6}=84. Then R=abc4Δ=2730336=658R=\frac{abc}{4\Delta}=\frac{2730}{336}=\frac{65}{8}. The inradius would be Δ/s=4\Delta/s=4; 77 is half the middle side, a common guess.
