Single correct option

The 1010th term of the harmonic progression 12,15,18,…\dfrac12,\dfrac15,\dfrac18,\ldots is
  1. A. 132\dfrac1{32}
  2. B. 126\dfrac{1}{26}
  3. C. 129\dfrac1{29}
  4. D. 2929
Show answer and solution

Answer: (C) 129\dfrac1{29}

The reciprocals 2,5,8,…2,5,8,\ldots form an AP with a=2a=2 and d=3d=3. The 1010th term of this AP is 2+9×3=292+9\times3=29, so the 1010th term of the HP is 129\dfrac1{29}. The option 2929 forgets to take the reciprocal, while 132\dfrac1{32} uses 10d10d instead of 9d9d.
