In a harmonic progression the 4th term is 1/9 and the 7th term is 1/15.

Single correct option

In a harmonic progression the 4th term is 19\dfrac19 and the 7th term is 115\dfrac1{15}. The 10th term is
  1. A. 121\dfrac1{21}
  2. B. 118\dfrac1{18}
  3. C. 124\dfrac1{24}
  4. D. 119\dfrac1{19}
Show answer and solution

Answer: (A) 121\dfrac1{21}

Reciprocals form an AP: 99 at the 4th place and 1515 at the 7th, so 3d=63d=6 and d=2d=2. The 10th reciprocal is 15+3⋅2=2115+3\cdot2=21, so the term is 121\dfrac1{21}. Applying the AP formula to the terms themselves is the trap.
