The number of multiples of 6 lying between 100 and 500 is

Single correct option

The number of multiples of 66 lying between 100100 and 500500 is
  1. A. 6666
  2. B. 6767
  3. C. 6868
  4. D. 8383
Show answer and solution

Answer: (B) 6767

The first multiple above 100 is 102102 and the last below 500 is 498498. They form an AP with d=6d=6, so n=498−1026+1=66+1=67n=\dfrac{498-102}{6}+1=66+1=67. Dividing 400400 by 66 gives about 66.766.7, and the usual error is to forget to add 11 for the first term.
